Full-Time Seasonal Firefighter
Lincoln county Fire protection district is responsible for fire protection, mitigation, and emergency response for 143,055 acres of private lands throughout Lincoln County. We currently have 3 stations located throughout the district. We have a type 6 and a type 4 wildland engine as well as a type 3 structure engine, water tender, tracked equipped utv off road rescue/patient transport with trailer, responder rehab trailer and command vehicles.
Lincoln County is located in the southeastern part of Nevada, it is made up of several small communities. Lincoln County borders the state of Utah and is surrounded by 4 of Nevada’s most beautiful state parks. It has several outdoor activities to offer from a newly constructed mountain bike trail system to some of Nevada’s best hunting, fishing and off-road riding.
The firefighter will be on call and available for emergency response while on duty. Under general direction of the fire district chief the firefighter shall perform a variety of tasks including: accept wildland fire assignments, extinguishment, mitigation, and prevention of fires and other emergencies, extrication and rescue of individuals from fire or entrapment, motor vehicle accidents, and other hazards. Participate in regular fire training, assist with maintenance and inventory of fire tools and equipment; perform hose and fire hydrant testing; perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance procedures on apparatus, equipment and facilities to ensure readiness; assist in fire prevention training and perform other assigned duties.
Must meet the following requirements at the time of appointment and continued employment.
18 yrs of age
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma or GED
ICS 100, 200, is 800, is 900
HAZ-MAT awareness & ops level certification
NWCG RED CARD CERT
Fire service instructor
